This untreated Montana sapphire displays a strongly purplish red color — an uncommon hue for Montana material — in a very light tone with moderately strong saturation. Brightness and scintillation are excellent, and the stone is eye clean, with only a small, very faint diagonal veil in the pavilion that is entirely invisible without magnification and has no discernible effect on face-up appearance.
